About Aleksandra Piskunova Александра Пискунова

Aleksandra Piskunova got her Bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies from HSE University where she studied Digital Humanities as well. Now Aleksandra is a student at Nanjing University of Science and Technology and still a researcher. Her research interests include the features of texts translated into Chinese, in particular their redundancy and readability. She mostly uses Python as a digital tool for measuring them.

Before the Digital Orientalist, Aleksandra was a part of Russian-Chinese parallel corpus (http://ruzhcorp.ruscorpora.ru/en/) where she helped to develop tools for automatic Chinese Word Segmentation (CWS) and linguistic annotation for translated Chinese texts.
