Chanapang ‘Natty’ Pongpiboonkiat is a Lecturer in Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. Her doctoral research examines how Thai military women construct military identities and self-represent on social media within shifting socio-political and technocultural landscapes. Her current work is grounded in queer feminist approaches to understanding gendered identities in militarised contexts and platform cultures across Southeast Asia. Before moving into academia, she worked extensively in the Thai media industry and served for six years in the Royal Thai Air Force’s Public Relations department.
