Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, USA, Jonathan Robker studied History and Philosophy (with a concentration in Religious Studies) at the College of Arts and Sciences and the Honors College of Louisiana State University. In the course of these studies, he studied for one year at the Friedrich-Schiller Universität in Jena, Germany. After completing these BAs in 2003, he continued his studies at the Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC, USA, completing a MTS in 2006. His time at Duke afforded him a year of study at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He completed his doctorate at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg with a specialization in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament in 2011. At the University of Münster, Germany, he completed his Habilitation in 2018. His research focuses on diachronic aspects of biblical literature, particular in the distinct traditions of the Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek versions.
