Mariana Zorkina is a PhD student at the Asien-Orient-Institut at Zurich University. Her research focuses on medieval Chinese “poems on things” and, more specifically, on language patterns surrounding the poetic imagery. She likes to experiment with Data Science tools that are not widely used in Digital Humanities and applying them to literature studies.
Before joining the Digital Orientalist team, she acted as editor-in-chief in a Russian online media on Digital Humanities, ‘Sysblok’ and as a member of the communications team at Alliance of Digital Humanities Organisations.
