Renuka Kannan is a doctoral scholar in the Department of English Studies at the Central University of Tamil Nadu, where she explores the discipline of English in India through the lens of space. Her research examines how ‘space’ functions as a significant pedagogic variable, embedded within institutional and environmental settings with particular attention to English language and literature classrooms in southern India. Her thesis combines curriculum analysis with an ethnographic study of teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the English Literature curriculum in Tamil Nadu, India.
She holds an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Madras and has previously worked in educational content development for GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, and UGC-NET preparation.
Her research interests include spatial humanities, human geography, language education, pedagogy, and Digital Humanities.
