Social Media Manager Needed from September 2021

Are you good with social media? Are you conversant with trends in the Digital Humanities and/or Oriental Studies? Or are you eager to learn about those things? We are looking for a new Social Media Manager to join The Digital Orientalist’s team from September 2021!

For the past three years Deniz Çevik has served as our Social Media Manager, she has expanded our presence on Twitter and Facebook, assisted with the daily running of DO contributed occasional pieces to the magazine, and played a vital role in publicising the materials published therein. We are looking for someone to build upon the wonderful work conducted by Deniz helping to expand our social media presence, undertake the daily running of DO’s social media accounts, and publicise DO and its content to the world! As Social Media Manager you will be free to opportunity to steer DO’s social media in new directions and to pitch your own ideas for implementation.

Anybody is encouraged to apply for this voluntary position, but it will most likely be of interest to graduate students, those in the early stages of their careers, and others looking to expand their experience and portfolios. By working with DO, you will be able to expand your portfolio by gaining experience in social media management, get your name out to a global audience of thousands of scholars, librarians, and students, and learn more about the worlds of the Digital Humanities and Oriental Studies.
