About Abdulqadir Haidermota

Guest Contributor, Middle Eastern Studies

After graduating from Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, Surat, India, in Islamic and Arabic Studies, Abdulqadir pursued a Master’s degree in History at SOAS, University of London. His dissertation examined the role of emotions in shaping medieval Islamic history, with a particular focus on the Fatimid Empire. His research into medieval Arabic manuscripts further led him to the Cairo Geniza documents and their use as evidence for reconstructing Middle Eastern historical narratives. He now seeks to explore conceptual network analysis of emotions embedded in medieval Arabic chronicles, complemented by the emotional expressions reflected in the Geniza corpus. Abdulqadir is currently an Assistant Lecturer at Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah in Mumbai, India.
