Chia-Wei Lin is a graduate assistant (assistante diplômée) and PhD student at the Section de langues et civilisations slaves et de l’Asie du Sud, Université de Lausanne. She completed her BA in Classical Philology and South Asian Studies at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and double MAs in Indo-European Linguistics and Semitic Philology at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. Her PhD thesis examines the Arabic and Georgian translations of Barlaam and Josaphat, a hagiography based on the life of the Buddha. Her research interests include historical linguistics, language contact, religious translations along the Silk Road, and NLP and HTR for ancient languages.
