Ishembieva Aizat holds a Specialist degree in Oriental Studies from Bishkek Humanities University and an MA in International Relations and Oriental Studies from Kyrgyz National University. Currently, she is pursuing a postgraduate degree at the Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnology, National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. Her research interests lie in the cultural history of Central Asia through the lens of the experiences and perspectives of Western explorers in the late XIX and early XX centuries. She particularly focuses on the materials of the 1st and 2nd Danish Pamir Expeditions to Central Asia (1896-1897; 1898-1899).
