Tiziana Pasciuto is a Research Fellow working on the ERC CoG REDMIX project “Unpacking Mixedness for an Inclusive History of the Red Sea, 1800s-2000s” in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Turin.
Leveraging her background in conservation science and archival studies, her work bridges cultural heritage preservation with semantic technologies, emphasizing the development of digital archives. She earned a PhD in Digital Humanities from the University of Genoa, where her doctoral research resulted in the creation of the Cultural Thematic Path (CTP) Ontology. This framework supports the construction, organization, and dissemination of thematic narratives within the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) domain.
Her specialized knowledge encompasses semantic ontologies and digital conservation, consistently aiming to enhance the accessibility and interoperability of cultural heritage. She has employed her interdisciplinary approach in collaborations with numerous institutions, including the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-IMATI) and the Vatican Museums.
She was co-founder and editor for “Research for Cultural Heritage”, an academic outreach initiative focused on sharing scientific methodologies applied to cultural heritage studies.
