Working in DH projects – a survey.

This post is prepared together with Tilman Schalmey (Trier University).

Digital approaches changed a lot in the way we deal with our research in the humanities: they brought new methods and research perspectives, for sure. But they also profoundly altered our work routines: many of us had to adjust how we plan research projects, learn how to work in large teams, interact with university administrators or negotiate computing time with IT departments.

As The Digital Orientalist is launching its 2023 conference on sustainability, we would like to learn more about our readers’ experiences with DH projects. What in your opinion makes a project successful long-term? What would you do differently if you could start over? How well did university managers and project leaders adjust to the new requirements DH projects bring?

We would love for you to share your experiences with us! The survey will take ca. 10 minutes to fill out and is anonymous. But you’re welcome to leave your email if you want to stay in touch and are interested in answering some follow-up questions.

Go to the survey.

We will publish the results and insights gained from the survey in an upcoming post.
